[SL: 02]The brief

The brief

TRACE is an invented technology distributor based in Dubai. The brief we set ourselves: turn logistics, the least visual business there is, into a cinematic scroll story, and still let a reseller do what they came for: find a product and get a quote.

Fiction, labelled

TRACE is a fictional brand. The company, its partners, figures and orders are invented for this demo, and the site says so in its footer.

[SL: 03]The film

Thirty-two seconds, one route.

The brand film behind the hero’s “Watch the film” button: the unit’s whole journey from chip to customer, in the site’s own type and 3D world. Rendered in code with Remotion.

What happens in the film

Silent film. The TRACE logo, then the line “Every unit has a route.” A chip on a glowing circuit board; a long warehouse aisle; a scanner ring testing a laptop; a packing line; a truck leaving a loading dock at night; routes lighting up across a globe; the laptop on a desk showing “Delivered 08:47 NBO”; the hero’s scanner ring with the company’s (fictional) key figures; and the TRACE end card.

[SL: 04]What we built

Six moments worth the scroll.

The demo’s key moments, in order. Every screen is a capture of the live site.

  1. (01) / 06

    A scanner at the door

Thousands of devices stream through a glowing 3D scanner ring, while a live ticker counts shipments in rolling digits.

  2. (02) / 06

    Follow one unit

Scroll, and you follow a single laptop from the chip to the customer’s desk: factory, warehouse, test scan, packing line, truck, globe. A scroll-scrubbed film, rendered in-house.

  3. (03) / 06

    Delivered, on screen

The journey lands on the customer’s laptop, where the delivery confirmation becomes the screen itself.

  4. (04) / 06

    The range, in 3D

Products turn on a dark stage as you move through the catalogue. A laptop explodes into its layers; a chip opens into a blueprint.

  5. (05) / 06

    The portal, working

A laptop zooms in until its screen becomes the page: a working partner portal where you search, add to the quote and watch the total update. Ordering, shown rather than described.

  6. (06) / 06

    Fulfilment from above

A top-down warehouse where routes light up as an order moves through it, logged line by line beside it. Each 3D chapter loads as its own bundle, with a still poster until it’s ready.

[SL: 05]On a phone

Same story. One hand.

The same journey on a phone: scenes re-framed for a tall screen, the portal reduced to what a thumb needs.
